Review by westbrook

westbrook I'm a big fan of the run through NM and AZ on 5/10, 5/12, and 5/13. This is the middle and perhaps weakest show of the bunch, but it features some great moments all the same. The AUD I have of this show is quality as well.

The highlights of the first set include the only show opening Catapult ever, an intense Maze, a classic Foam with some silent jamming, and one of the finest pre-95 Bathtub Gins. Trey is predictably on-point in Down with Disease, but the jam is kept in check as it was with most early versions of the song.

The second set is a bit light on jams, keeping this show from being top of the line, but the big guns that are present deliver expectedly. Antelope gets some bonus points for mixing things up in the Rye Rye Rocco segment. Possum is the strongest tune of the set, aided by Bring it on Home teasing and dynamics shifts.

I like the first set more than the second, but don't let that stop you from giving it a listen. This is a prime example of a Spring '94 show, where the jams were usually compact, but the playing was superb.
