bigswede This was the show that put me over the edge. This was my 3rd show and the band had come a long way since the 3/31/90 show at the Rathskeller student union in Madison, WI. My buddy and I helped load their gear into the Barrymore earlier that day when we got a call from a friend working at the Barrymore, and in exchange they offered to let us tape a soundboard of the show. I brought my home stereo dub deck into the venue and they plugged it in, set the levels, and even flipped the tape for me. I now converted it to digital and this show continues to floor Phishheads ever time I pull it out and crank it up. They filled the Barrymore with dry ice smoke, got out the mini trampolines and proceeded to freak the hell out of all of us with strobe lights. This is a show I will never forget and one of the best of my lifetime. The raw sound from Trey's guitar is epic!

Review by DaReba

DaReba I love the warm sound board recording of this show. It got me through one of the worst nights of hazing in college in 95. we had to sleep in a hallway of the house basement that was being renovated. the second set comforted me.
Fluffhead , Tela, GTBT are classic for any year in my opinion. The fuffhead in particular.
Great tape to hand someone if they have never heard the homeys and u don't wanna overwhelm with ,say ,the Campus Club 3/13/92 :-)

Review by DemandOpener

DemandOpener Not much to report with this show outside of an enjoyable, dissonant Stash, a typically smoking Landlady, and a hilarious YEM with a "Pass the butter/Get your balls out of the butter". Um, WTF? Finally, the GTBT definitely has a little extra mustard on it, as it consistently threatens to go Type II for a few moments without the actual follow-through. GTBT is definitely the highlight of the show, purely for the uniqueness of it.

Anyway, this show is a mostly standard 1991 show with a couple of nice standout moments, so I would immediately put it on the list of top-tier 1991 shows. No offense to the rest of the year, but it's all been very ordinary so far. I'm giving this one a 3.5/5, but that's a ringing endorsement for 1991!

thelot Nicely mixed SBD for this show. Interesting that the last 5 shows have had SBD sources. Paul must’ve been feeling generous!

A fiery Llama gets the show underway.
Nice Sky. Straightforward yet well played Stash. All in all a standard first set played flawlessly.

Landlady>Jim starts off set 2. YEM is a rage fest! Mike is extra punchy in the mix! Cool Rappers Delight tease from Mike during the B&D section. Mike continues a Rappers Delight vocal scat into a fun VJ. “Stick your balls in the butter!” lol Tape flip after YEM. Fluff has a strong ‘Arrival’ section. Trey ends it whispering “We love you Fluffhead” The first Tela of the year is up next. This pairs perfectly with a hot Buried Alive. Rock solid Reba. Trey rips the f’n life out of the GXBX closer! Encore #1 features a fun Contact and a hilarious BBFCFM. Fish even breaks out the vacuum towards the end of BBFCFM. When the band comes back out for the second encore Trey discloses that he has family in the audience out from New Jersey. Beautiful Coil to end the show. Very enjoyable second set.
