Seven Below

Palmer 🎏 very Improvisational and unique, still got nothin' on Albany IMO. This is led by Trey during the majority of the duration. I find it awe inspiring this band can play so tight, what a great thing to listen to.

Dog_Faced_Boy I think this -7 is a much better jam than the descriptor suggests. To my ears, the first 16 minutes are almost a Mike and Fish led groove-based jam, with Trey and Page layering dissonance, effects, and dark sentiments to the groove. I don't usually think of 2.0 jams in a groove context, but I definitely do here. There's sort of a return to the Seven Below them around 17:00, then the jam shifts to a Trey-led euphoric overdrive section so common in jams from '04 in particular. Although I can hear little suggestions of -7 throughout the jam whether it's Mike's bass line in the groove section, or Trey's melodic hints in the hose part, that's okay with me. I personally love the Seven Below theme, so occasional references to it are fine with me, and this jam still gets pretty far removed from the standard.
